Green Ideas
These are the Green ideas of users of Project Earth. You can share your resolutions
and get points.
we should grow more and more trees.try to decrease the level of co2.
Buy less, use less water, electricity, paper goods, oil, etc. Buy local, organic foods. Recycle and reuse instead of filling up our land fills.
The earth, we live, we love
Now there are methods like co2 scrubber tower in which co2 can be filtered out by caustic soda see url ( http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/project-earth/lab-books/fixing-carbon/guide1.html ) then the co2 is safely buried under deep oceans by freezing it.
But i think instead of burying co2 cant we make use of like producing ehaonol & carbohydrates by using H2o & electricity , sceintists have developed technology to mimic nature i.e., "artificial photosynthesis" The pathway for artificial photosynthesis powered by electricity ( 8 CO2 + 8 H2O + electricity ---> C6H10O5 + C2H6O + 9 O2 ). see url (http://precedings.nature.com/documents/4167/version/1) So now why cant we develop technology to commercialise this process all over the world to trap the carbon from the atmosphere. my goal is to trap carbon in the for of solid so that it can be stoed safely & not let it go back to atmosphere.
Further there are methods to split H2o directly from solar energy rather than using electrolysis. the hence produced H2 gas may be stored & used to produce electricity using fuel cells. like this maximum amount of solar energy can be converted to electricity rather than using solar panels which hardly give efficeincies of 15% to 40%
I think there are lot of things going on to curb climate change, but they are not going in a correct way , simple ideas like what i have mentioned above are neglected & useless ideas are promoted
We can all plan trees and take care of them, we can recycle, produce compost and care about water and endangered species.
Adopt a Road, recycling at schools, donating to causes, etc..
Reduce bus idiling at school.

Don't idle your cars if you don't have to!
Spread the word that it's cool to be green.
We are in the process of turning our school into a "GREEN" School. Our outdoor classroom areas will feature a waterfall and pond that is solar powered. We recycle as many items as we can. A big project that we did at the beginning of the year was collect blue jeans for homeless teenagers. We collected 700 pairs of jeans.
"BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD" - M. GANDHI
We strongly believe that it is through KNOWLEDGE of the envirionmental problems and pollution situation that we will take ACTION to adrress the problems starting from the best place we can: our school. It is a community effort to start changing the way we live one kid at a time...
I have started a consulting firm. I am volunteering to go to homes and businesses to educate on efficiency, but I still need income.?
NESEA advances the adoption of sustainable energy practices within the built environment. NESEA's K-12 Education Department offer professional development opportunities, curriculum, and resources for teachers and non-formal educators on energy efficiency, energy conservation, and on the science and applications of renewable energy. Check out all of our programs and green ideas at www.nesea.org.
It's long been known that children teach their parents about new ideas and technology. Invite parents to see and hear what students are learning about and participating in! Send out e-newsletters showcasing the activities and work your students do!

My green ideas deal with finding ways to be paperless at school. We email as much information as we can and use wiki's and web pages to post information and ideas. Our school newsletter is digital now and we post important documents as PDF's so people can print only if they need to.
My green ideas include using the above listed suggestions to reduce our carbon footprint and save our water supply so that our children’s children can enjoy our planet’s resources and natural beauty.
Try using newsapaper to clean windows, it is awesome. i leave the lint from my dryer out in the spring for the birds to use in thier nests.
Be a role model- let others see how easy it is to: 1. bring your own bags, 2. use reusable lunch bag and water bottle, 3. plant drought resistant plants in your yard, 4. order vegetarian meals in restaurants, and eat more vegetables and whole grains (they require less water and chemicals to produce) 5. clean up after your dog so that the waste does not enter the water ways, 6.wear sweaters instead of turning up the heat, 7. use vinegar and approved cleaning fluids instead of toxic chemicals.
Our school has been recyclig plastic bottles for 2 years and we are hoping to add paper cartons (milk) and food composting next year.

Grow some of your favorite vegetables in a backyard garden and buy only local fresh produce. Don't buy out-of-season fresh fruits and vegetables that have to be imported from distant locations.
The National Future Cities Project is an excellent way to teach our students the absolute necessity of building a better "green" mousetrap. Their city is evaluated on the basis of how forward thinking their "green" design is. The students are required to consider every aspect of our existence today and to improve in their city of tomorrow. It is a wonderful way to really get kids to evaluate our world today and plan a better tomorrow.
create groups of friends and pick up trash from your neighborhood
I think every saturday science students should get extra credit just by picking up a wrapper. Students should be more informed by the Earth not just having a club. I think everything incuding newspapers and clothes should be recycled material from some place. GO GREEN!!!!!
The EPA indicates that over 50% of illness in America is caused or exacerbated by indoor air. Families need to ventilate their kitchens during and after cooking, which raises airborne metal particulates to enormous levels and impedes healthy air.
Going green does not have to be complicated. Having respect for the environment and taking day to day measures to preserve the natural beauty of the Earth requires a change of mind more than any other factor. If we all do everything in our power to utilize natural resources that are sustainable, such and solar or hydroelectric power, our environment would be safer.
My school gives extra credit for earth projects so I'm hoping I win contests and learn more about going green.
I think thateveryone should read instead of watch TV daily to save energy. And I want everyone to GO GREEN!!!!

The Green Team at Pavilion Central School has organized an Energy Fair to create awareness of renewable and alternative energies and to help others students, staff, and community members to become more energy efficient to be be aware of how they use energy
Creating more energy efficient cars and finding a new energy resource are the two main goals that humans, as a whole, should achieve.
Bike/Walk to near destinations, plant simple foods/herbs instead of purchasing them, monitor/limit use of water, lights, electronics, etc., use energy efficient light bulbs, promote awareness & teach good recycling habits/practices, carpool as much as possible, eat local/homegrown food and finally eat less processed/pre-packaged foods.
