Earth Day Free Events and Giveaways

ProjectEarth NCM Natural Sciences

Earth Day in most cities around the USA offers lots of free activities where you can trade in your dish liquid or laundry detergent for an eco-friendly one, get a free packet of flower seeds and find out how to turn your old T-shirts into high fashion. Among the Earth Day freebies available for general public are the following.
Visit the Planet Earth Celebration at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh to learn about composting, the latest green technology, and how to decrease your carbon footprint.
Many Whole Foods stores will be giving away free eco-friendly cleaners in exchange for a conventional version from your cleaning cupboard. Just bring in a new or used bottle of laundry detergent, dish liquid or all-purpose cleaner to exchange it for a natural version from the GreenShield Organic line of products.
Many stores will also organize different Earth Day-themed activities. For example, Michael's craft stores run free workshops where visitors can learn how to "upcycle" your old T-shirts into fashion accessories.
Pottery Barn Kids stores usually give away seed packets to children while Target stores nationwide will be offering 1.5 million free reusable shopping bags and coupon booklets for sustainable products. The lucky customers whose bag will be one of 250,000 will get sample products, such as Method dish soap, Annie's Bunny Grahams, Seventh Generation laundry detergent and Burt's Bee's moisturizing cream. And make sure you use your bag for a nickel discount during the check out.
Stop the Disney Store for a free Disney-themed reusable tote bag. In the store customers can trade in five plastic grocery bags for a bag from the movies "Cars 2" or "Brave."
During the Earth Day celebrations visit EVOS, the fast-casual eatery focusing in serving organic and natural foods, for a free organic milkshake.
